For as long as I can remember,  the kitchen has been my happy place. Most probably because, in my family, life revolves around the kitchen. Every family gathering, birthday, or celebration is planned around what we are going to eat.

As I inherited an insatiable sweet tooth from my dad, it was only natural that I found the greatest pleasure in whipping up the perfect sweet treat for whatever the occasion.

She discovered she could have her cake and eat it too... she just needed to put on her prettiest apron and

bake it

Blom (flower in Afrikaans), my childhood nickname, turned out to be quite a fitting one, as I'm certainly a flour child (but not the hippy type!). This flour child is the extension of the pleasure  I get from baking. My sweet tooth is forever in search of the perfect sweet treat, but there is only so much sugary treats that my family can consume, and now I would love to create the perfect bake for your special occasion.

Besides offering my services as baker, I  also share recipes (mostly the sweet kind, but occasionally less dessert-y ones too), baking tips, and a few odd ramblings about my life, my husband and my cats.
